2021-08-30 IFA estimate of world demand for fertilizers in the medium term 2021-2025

The International Fertilizer Manufacturers Association (IFA) has published a report in which it analyzes the possible evolution of the demand for fertilizers in the medium term, up to the year 2025.

According to IFA estimates, the world demand for nutrients in the fertilizer year 2021/22 will be 110.8 million tons of N (increasing 0.7 percent over the previous year), from 50 million tons of P2O5 (+0.8 percent) and 39.1 million tons of K2O (+1.5 percent). This implies a total demand of 199.9 million tons of nutrients (N + P2O5 + K2O), which would increase to 208.3 million in the year 2025/26 (with a rise of 4.2 percent compared to 2021 / 22).
